Cansei de Ser Sexy

Music Is My Hot Hot Sex

From all the drugs the one i like more is music
From all the junks the one i need more is music
From all the boys the one I take home is music
From all the ladies, the one I kiss is music (muah!)
Music is my boyfriend
Music is my girlfriend
Music is my dead end
Music's my imaginary friend
Music is my brother
Music is my great-grand-daughter
Music is my sister
Music is my favorite mistress

From all the shit the one I gotta buy is music
From all the jobs the one I choose is music
From all the drinks I get drunk of music
From all the bitches the one I wanna be is music
Music is my beach house
Music is my hometown
Music is my kingsize bed
Music's where I meet my friends
Music is my hot hot bath
Music is my hot hot sex
Music is my backrub
My music is where I'd like you to touch

Perto dele eu podia sentir
saía de seu olho e chegava em mim
sentada do seu lado eu queria encostar
faria o Tigela até o sol raiar
debaixo do lençol ele gemia em ré bemol
fiquei tensa, mas tava tudo bem
tudo bem
ele é fodão mas eu sei que eu sou também
ele é fodão mas eu sei que eu sou também
ele é fodão mas eu sei que eu sou também
ele é fodão mas eu sei que eu sou também

Mistake Chains Create Common Knowledge

Medical doctors doing research don't know and don't use the best statistical techniques available

then they write abstracts that overstate their findings, which in any case were produced with low quality statistical techniques

then a journalist that doesn't know anything about medicine and statistics reads the overstated abstract

and when writing about the abstract he didn't really understand he inflates or distorts it so as to produce a great news and then

the news reader, who doesn't know medicine and statistics and is not much aware of how journalists work, vaguely reads the news and makes his or her very personal interpretation of what he has just vaguely read, usually in a too optimistic or too pessimistic way (I should never ever eat that; I should now eat that a lot; etc.)

and passes his or her personal interpretation of the inflated and distorted news to an acquaintance he or she really doesn'’t know very well

who will freely re-interpret that personal interpretation and use that free re-interpretation to support and scientifically refine his or her brilliant line of thought saying

"I am right and you are wrong because there are scientific studies that have scientifically proved this and that"...

And thus common knowledge is created and crystallized.

Lisbon's Network

There is in Lisbon a network linking the city's most pretty places and where the same people always meet. They are the interesting and stylish people that meet in Chiado buying books and DVD's and that go to the Santa Catarina Sightseeing Place and that are in Pois Saturday afternoon with a vague hangover and that meet again in Bairro Alto and then in the morning surprise each other at... They do not know each other, they were not introduced to each other but smile one another with the complicity of those who belong to something like a vague secret society. But it is public and open, anonymous but smiling: it is the network of interesting people and places of Lisbon.

The Shining Shoulders and The Beautiful Bellies of Lisbon

Today during the morning and the afternoon, all the Lisbon girls I saw were wearing tops, showing their shining shoulders and beautiful bellies.

It was 22ºC = 71.6ºF but we all Lisboners felt 25ºC = 77ºF in our bodies.

2006

Everybody is living, everybody is leaving.

I am listening to Coldplay again.

Whenever I listen to X&Y I remember K. and feel deeply sad.

2006 was for me the year of K., the year of c., the year of really living in Lisbon and really be a "Lisboner", the year of cooking, the year of researching for the M.

and the year of travelling by car and listening to Coldplay and having picnics with K.

the year of sleeping in rooms with candles

the year of eating olives and drinking wine while making a couch out of a bed

2006 was a deeply emotional year.

Otherone Told

defending yes or no to abortion with pragmatic arguments is terrible, but defending swimming and any other act of pleasure with pragmatic arguments... is pornographic

why?

because there must be a separation among values and there must be a certain correspondence among values

ok

otherwise it is the schizophrenia of moral and of the sentiments

(...)

this thing that one should read good books because they are good to success in school

is terrible

this thing that one should stop smoking because it is bad to this or that organ

is pornographic

(...)

it is like religion

religion as entertainment is not religion

that is why it is wrong to say that Brazilians who live in Portugal are religious

(some) Brazilians

Someone Said

I consider that it is morally unacceptable to swim for utilitarian purposes.

Or better, I consider that it is morally unacceptable to swim for purposes.

In Which Planet?

In which planet have I been? There is plenty of Halloween but I have never seen anything.

[This is how some pop lyrics are made.].
